VELODROME RIDER OF THE YEAR

The Rider of The Year (TROY) standings will be posted here.

TROY is a rider ranking system based on race finishes throughout the NSC Velodrome season. TROY combines all racing categories (men and women separately) and in 2008 will count a racer’s 35 highest scoring races (out of approximately 50-55 races). Races included in this year’s TROY will be all Thursday nights, RADIUS on August 2, state match sprints on August 9 and the timed state championship events on August 16. Each individual race will score as follows (no races will earn double points like some did last year):

There will be no field size requirement (so a first place will always score first place points) and all completed races will be scored even if part of a meet gets rained out.  Scoring for Madisons and other 2-person team events will be 10 points for each person on the winning team, 8 points for each person on the second place team, 6 for third, etc. (for men Cat 1/2s).  If needed, tie breaker will be based on finishing places in State Championship events (all State events, not just those on August 2 and 9).  Prizes (to be determined) will be awarded to the top 3 men and women following the completion of the TROY schedule ($100 minimum to first man and woman).
