Broadcasting and Camera Operator Positions
Schwan’s USA CUP 2008 Photo and Video Internships
The National Sports Center is offering two media internships in still photography and video production at the annual Schwan’s USA CUP youth soccer tournament, to be held July 11-19.

Still Photojournalism Internship
- Duties will include shooting digital photos on assignment for the tournament daily newspaper, website, and event and sponsor documentation. Intern will work in a team environment, often working with a reporter, and will be expected to play an active role in creative and journalistic decisions. Position is split 50/50 between shooting and editing/cataloging.
- Qualifications: Candidate must provide their own camera equipment and have excellent skills in Photoshop or equivalent photo-editing software. Intern must have an independent, entrepreneurial attitude, and be highly motivated to advance the photography profile and quality of the tournament.
- Dates: Full-time, daily, from July 11-19, 2008. Typical workday will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the requirement to work longer hours as needed.
- This is an unpaid internship, but each candidate will have the opportunity to develop a dynamic and extensive portfolio which will be viewed by thousands of people. Meals are provided.

Video Production Internship
- Duties will include shooting and editing video for Kick TV: The Second Season, a daily video magazine show which will be posted on the Schwan’s USA CUP Web site. Intern will work in a team environment, working with a producer, reporters and host. Intern will be expected to play an active role in creative and journalistic decisions.
- Qualifications: Candidate must have excellent skills in shooting video and Final Cut Express video-editing software. Intern must have an independent, entrepreneurial attitude, and be highly motivated to advance this new media project at Schwan’s USA CUP.
- Dates: Full-time, daily, from July 11-19, 2008. Typical workday will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the requirement to work longer hours as needed.

BT Support Technician
Download detailed position description- The BT/IT Technician's role is to support, maintain, and manage all in house systems, desktops/notebooks, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. This person will troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion while providing end user training and assistance.
- Qualifications: Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and networking/computer hardware, profficent with MS office, ability to communicate well with clients and the end user.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma/GE and three years experience, or an equivalent combination of post secondary education and experience.
- Type of Position: Full-time (40 hours per week), hourly position to start immediately. Compensation is based on experience and education.

BT Systems Programmer Intern
Download detailed position description - The bulk of the work will be addressing the day to day fixes/bugs/enhancements/ problems/challenges requested by our in-house user community. At times you will be asked to research bugs and/or enhancements with little or no direction from the senior developer. Other times you will be provided a detailed specifications document outlining what needs to be changed and how to test it. The candidate should be comfortable in both of these situations. There may be occasions where small self-contained projects will be handed off to the candidate to be completed using whatever techniques they deem appropriate for the task.
- Qualifications: The candidate should have general knowledge of structured query language (SQL), general knowledge of web forms, Microsoft Access and/or SQL Server (2000, 2005), ASP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and .NET (not necessary, however).
- Education/Experience: Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent major with 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Type of Position: 25-35 hours per week, hourly position, to start immediately and run through August 15, 2008. Compensation will be $10-15/hour based on education and experience.

On-air talent and camera operators needed for webcasting
- The National Sports Center is looking for part-time, freelance, on-air play-by-play talent and camera operators for selected events as part of its new webcasting initiative. The NSC will be offering live webcasts of sports events, including hockey, soccer, figure skating and cycling, as well as special events. These opportunities offer a great way to gain experience, and some modest remuneration may be provided.
- Qualifications: Some experience and/or formal training preferred. Many of our candidates have had experience with community cable television, and/or professional training through Brown College, other broadcasting schools and community cable classes.
- Dates: On-call/as needed beginning in late May. Many events will take place at night and/or during the weekend.
- This is a freelance, part-time position.
